WE’RE PROUD TO SUPPLY CASSAVA BAGS FOR KOKUMI
In recent years, Kokumi has grown from strength to strength, opening new stores due to popular demand. The bubble drink franchise now has more than 15 stores in Jakarta alone and with more across Indonesia.
When the Jakarta ban on plastic bags was announced, Kokumi didn’t hesitate or wait for the 6 month deadline. They had already replaced their plastic straws with eco-friendly alternatives made from PLA cornstarch. Now they were on a mission to replace their plastic bags with a more sustainable alternative that would be suitable for delivering their drinks to their loyal customers.
Design
The client chose three specific sizes for their cassava bags; a small size for carrying single drinks, a medium sized bag to hold two drinks at a time, and a larger size for multiple drinks. Our design teams worked together to get the style right with both featuring their unique logo and branding on white coloured bags.

We worked closely with our production teams to plan the production of these specially designed bags. It was important that the blue print colour was closely matched to that of the Kokumi brand so we tested some ink variations in order to get the desired result.
The bags were created during April 2020 before being packaged up and delivered to their warehouse in time for them to distribute to their stores.
REsult
The management are happy to have now taken another step forward in the efforts to “go green” and offer their customers a more sustainable experience while enjoying their special bubble tea drink. For deliveries, including those ordered through GrabFood and GoJek, the drinks are placed, carried, and delivered to the customer inside the cassava bag.
We hope all their customers have enjoyed receiving their order in our environmentally-friendly bag and had the chance to reuse it.
