Who are we
We’re an environmentally-conscious and socially responsible business with the aim of having an immensely positive impact within the natural world of which we are all a part of.
Our main base is in Bali, Indonesia, and we have representatives in various locations (including Turkey, UAE, Cyprus, Malaysia, and Singapore).
Born in Indonesia, used by the world
For the past few years, Bali has been the world’s number one tourist destination. Holidaymakers and travellers descend on the Island of Gods in their millions each year and this number only continues to increase. New hotels, villas, and beach clubs open each year to cater for the crowd. Yet, suitable waste management systems is often an afterthought across Indonesia. As the second-largest contributor to marine plastic pollution after China, it is vital that alternative solutions are found to curb the pollution.
SavaBag is a carrier bag made from cassava starch; not petroleum. These bags are an invention of Indonesia and produced with the hope of providing an alternative to plastic bags and the pollution and havoc it causes. An alternative that will not pollute or poison the natural world or end up in the middle of the ocean for decades.
Why SavaBag?
Because our bags are different. Made from vegetable starches and oils (as well as some other naturally occurring substances to help hold it together), SavaBag will not pollute planet earth as conventional plastic bags do. It is free from toxins and actually acts as a fertiliser when decomposing in natural conditions.
It can be used in the same manner as a conventional plastic bag – in supermarkets and retail stores – for those moments when your customer doesn’t have their own bag on hand. It’s also popular as a laundry bag in hotels. And, of course, it’s great as a trash bag so we’re not sending toxic plastic to landfill.
We sincerely hope that the world moves away from single-use petroleum-based plastic bags.
